The Globe And Mail

In the Maritimes, Lonely Planet Nova Scotia, New Brunswick & Prince Edward Island author Celeste Brash’s recommendations start with PEI.

“The most popular sites are on the beach but the easier-to-book New Glasgow Highlands Campground is in a beautiful wooded area central to the sights – and with amazingly few insects. It’s homey and friendly with great facilities.”

Congratulations to the hosts! On a scale of 1 to 10, this rates 10+. Best I’ve seen in 15 years of camping!

My husband and I stayed at your campground this past week and we could not have been more pleased with our time there!  Your cabins are fantastic and the entire campground is so well kept and beautiful!  We will definitely return and will recommend to all of our family and friends. Thanks so much! PS. Cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen at a campground!

Just wanted to thank you for having us at your beautiful campground.  We had a most relaxing week.  We would especially like to thank Les for his help parking the trailer. It was a great week all around and we hope to be back again within the not too distant future.  The two of you certainly work hard to maintain a top notch campground and your hard work certainly has paid off because it is the best we have ever been at.   Looking forward to seeing you guys soon.

Hello Les and Marlene. We are back home from an amazing voyage across Canada and a return trip through some of the northern states. We wanted to let you know that our one night stay with you was very memorable and of all the facilities we stayed in, yours was the very best! Thanks again for letting us park our camper in the tenting field where we enjoyed a view over the adjacent farm fields. We really enjoyed our discussions with you, and the kids really enjoyed the pool too! After we left your home/campground we picked fresh raspberries – another wonderful memory. And when we get back to PEI we will be sure to find our way to your beautiful location on that island.

Here is some news from your Dutch guests, travelling with little Leanne. We had a tremendous time at the campground with you guys. We really appreciated your attention and talks around the various days. Thanks again and we’ll never forget.

We’re back in Montreal now, after an incredible 10 days in the Maritimes. Thank you for providing such a lovely campground, and for giving us so many tips on things to see/do! We’ll be back again, soon I hope. The island certainly does have a sense of wonder and charm about it. Wishing you all the best, until next time!

I just wanted to say Thank you again for accommodating us with a tent site during the last week of August. You have a beautiful campsite, and thank you for your help and wonderful hospitality. I will tell all my friends who camp about your facility and hope they have the chance to stay. I too hope to visit you and the Island again. Ps – you had mentioned to me about getting to go to Cape North and see a couple of seals. Well we must of timed it perfect because we ended up seeing about 200. Thanks again!

Nova Scotia

We would like to extend a huge thank you to your both for your wonderful hospitality and excellent camp ground. We stayed there September 1st and 2nd, I must say that both of our boys thoroughly enjoyed the weekend there. The oldest has told everybody about the man (Les) at the camp ground who wanted to trade hats. The camp ground itself is by far one of the most beautiful camp grounds we have seen, very well cared for. It’s very easy to see that you love what you do, and provide to others. We really enjoyed the quietness and tranquility of the park, it’s a home away from home kind of feeling. Looking forward to spending more time there next summer.
